Two children face charges of theft and break and enter after a brief police chase outside of Nipigon.
Nipigon OPP were alerted to a stolen vehicle in the Lake Helen area around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. Officers later located the vehicle on Highway 11, but it did not stop. The youths, aged 12 and 13, were charged with the following:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 (two counts)
- Flight from peace officer
- Driving motor vehicle without a license
- Break and enter
- Theft over $5,000
The accused have been held in custody and will appear in youth court on Wednesday.
