Quispamsis residents may need to find other places to cool off this New Brunswick Day long weekend.

Meenan’s Cove Beach is closed to swimming until further notice due to high levels of E. coli.

The community posted about the closure on its social media channels on Wednesday.

“Residents & visitors are advised to keep people & pets away from the water,” said the post, adding that signs have been posted at the beach.

Meanwhile, Ritchie Lake Beach also remains closed to swimming for the same reason.

That closure was first announced by the town on July 17.
