A new solar project in Yarmouth County.

The Wasoqopa’q First Nation is developing it on 50 acres of land they own in Gardners Mills.

The first phase is expected to have a capacity of 10 megawatts, which totals 20,000 solar panels.

Drop-in sessions are happening Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. at the Carleton Fire Hall.

The project is a partnership with the first nation and Natural Forces, a private renewable energy producer.
