Fire officials say three pets have died after a noon hour house fire in Grand Bay-Westfield.

Crews were called to Nelson Street near Inglewood Drive at around 12:20 p.m. Thursday.

The first crews on the scene found a home heavily involved in fire, according to the fire department.

Firefighters brought the flames under control quickly but the home sustained significant damage.

No one was home at the time of the incident.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
