Crews continue to try and clear sidewalks and roadways as a result of the latest blast of winter weather.
In a statement, Roads Acting Manager Ian Spoljarich reports that Thunder Bay received approximately 30 – 50 cm of wet and heavy snow coupled, with high winds creating drifting in some areas.
An additional five centimetres of snow with the potential for ice pellets is forecast for Wednesday.
Road crews started plowing sidewalks, arterial and collector streets early Wednesday morning and will continue that work early Thursday morning.
Residential streets and sidewalks should be fully plowed by the end of the weekend.
Stay home when you can, and if you need to travel use caution and give yourself extra time to reach your destination.
