Saint John police say they arrested four impaired drivers during a 10-hour period Thursday night into Friday.

Officers stopped a vehicle in the area of Prince Edward Street just before 11:40 p.m. Thursday. A 25-year-old man was arrested and charged with failure/refusal to comply with a breath demand.

Just before 2 a.m. Friday, police conducted a traffic stop on a motorcycle at the intersection of Princess and Orange streets. Officers arrested a 25-year-old man for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

Police then stopped a vehicle travelling eastbound on Route 1 just before 4 a.m. Friday. They arrested a 39-year-old man for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

Officers then responded to a call of a possible impaired driver on Ashburn Road just before 9 a.m. Friday.

Police said they located the vehicle and found the driver passed out behind the wheel. A 46-year-old man was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

All four were later released from custody with future court dates.
