RCMP is investigating after the body of a 50-year-old woman was discovered in Lunenburg County.

The report came in on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. when first responders were called to check out possible human remains in the LaHave River near Pleasantville.

Nova Scotia RCMP is working with the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service to determine circumstances that led to her death.

At this time, criminality is not believed to be a factor.

The investigation is in the early stages and no additional information will be released at this time.
