Well… that one stung.
The Toronto Blue Jays took a 14–5 loss to the Colorado Rockies last night at Rogers Centre, and it wasn’t just the score that had fans feeling deflated.
The game already felt off, but the moment that really hit everyone in the gut came in the third inning when starting pitcher Cody Ponce went down with a right knee injury. He was trying to field a ground ball hit by Rockies outfielder Jake McCarthy when his right leg buckled, sending him to the infield dirt. He had to be carted off the field, and the team later confirmed it as right knee discomfort pending further evaluation.
This morning, one of our regulars – listener Aaron – summed up exactly what so many fans were feeling.
Aaron wasn’t just disappointed about the loss – he was gutted over Cody’s injury. Ponce’s debut was supposed to be a comeback story, and instead it turned into one of the toughest moments of the night.
But here’s the thing about Aaron: he’s loyal. Even after a blowout loss and Ponce’s injury, he’s still riding with the Jays. He even dropped a prediction for tonight’s game.
