Thunder Bay, we did it. After decades of rumours, wishful thinking, and more “I heard Costco is coming” conversations than any city should reasonably endure, the dream is officially crossing from urban legend into reality. Eight hectares at Golf Links Road and Central Avenue now belong to Costco – signed, sealed, and soon to be stocked with rotisserie chickens and 48‑packs of muffins.
And because Thunder Bay knows how to celebrate a milestone – especially one that involves bulk snacks and discount gas — I wrote a song to mark the occasion. It’s a little tongue‑in‑cheek, a little celebratory, and very Thunder Bay. Think of it as our unofficial Costco anthem as we prepare for the era of giant carts, free samples, and the sweet smell of possibility… or maybe that’s just the bakery section.
