The City of Thunder Bay is looking for feedback on its multi-year Accessibility Plan.
Thunder Bay’s Accessibility Advisory Committee has outlined potential barriers to accessibility in the city and proposed strategies to address and remove them.
The plan tackles accessible physical design such as curbs, sidewalks, and built environments like the new Red River Road streetscape. Accessible customer service and ease of voting in our upcoming municipal election were also considered. The city says it wants to ensure everybody can fully participate in its services.
“Community feedback is essential to make sure our accessibility priorities reflect the real needs and experiences of the people who live here. We encourage everyone and anyone to participate and help us continue building a more inclusive city,” said Municipal Accessibility Specialist Kayla Scully.
To view the Accessibility Plan and complete a survey with your feedback, visit www.thunderbay.ca/getinvolved.
If you prefer a paper copy, surveys are available at the 55 Plus Centre, all public library branches, and at the first floor service counter at City Hall.
The survey will be open until June 26.
