When playoff hockey hits, there are only two things you need: a lucky jersey and a plate of wings big enough to emotionally support you through overtime. Whether you’re hosting the crew, feeding the family, or just stress‑eating alone in front of the TV (no judgment), homemade sauces take your wing game from “pretty good” to “don’t talk to me, I’m busy licking my fingers.”
Dee’s Pickle-icous Chicken Wings + Dill Pickle Dip
If you love dill pickles, these wings are about to become your new personality. They’re tangy, garlicky, crispy, and loaded with that briny flavour that just works with chicken. Perfect for game night, BBQs, or any night you want wings that taste like summer.
Ingredients
- 2–3 lbs chicken wings
- 1 cup dill pickle juice (from the jar)
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp dried dill
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Optional: 1/2 tsp paprika for colour
Instructions
- Marinate the wings Place wings in a large bowl or zip bag. Pour pickle juice over top and marinate 2-4 hours. (Don’t go overnight – the acid will break down the meat too much.)
- Pat dry Remove wings from the marinade and pat them dry really well. This is what gets them crispy.
- Season Toss wings with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, dill, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Cook your way:
- Oven: 425°F for 45-50 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Air fryer: 400°F for 18-20 minutes.
- Grill: Medium‑high heat, 20-25 minutes, turning often.
- Finish with extra dill Once cooked, sprinkle with a little more dried or fresh dill.
