Officials have set up a makeshift memorial in the field of Pope John Paul II Elementary School in Thunder Bay.

It’s to honour the remains of 215 children that were found at a former residential school in Kamloops last Thursday.

You can see a teepee as well as an assortment of children’s shoes and toys along the fence facing Arthur Street.

There are individuals with orange shirts reading Every Child Matters.

The Sacred Fire will be lit Monday and will remain that way for four days.
