More needs to be done in Ontario to support families with Autistic children.

Alina Cameron is a mom to a seven year old daughter on the Autism spectrum.

“Our children have lost four years of developmental time that they can never get back. In the case of the Autism program, the Ontario PC’s certainly did nothing to get it done,” Cameron said.

She is also involved with the Ontario Autism Coalition as well as the Northern Autism Families group.

Cameron will be part of a province-wide protest to be held on Saturday, May 28th.

“We are still waiting. We want the PC candidates to meet their potential future constituents and hear what (the parents and advocates) have to say about their experience over the last four years,” Cameron stated.

The group plans to start the day at Thunder Bay-Superior North candidate Peng You’s campaign office at 180 North Cumberland Street at 1:00 p.m.

From there, they will head to 307 Euclid Avenue at 3:00 p.m. to the campaign office of Thunder Bay-Atikokan candidate Kevin Holland.

Acadia News will have more with Alina Cameron next week on the party platforms and how they address the Autism file.
