Time to talk to your kids about rail safety. Make sure they stay off train tracks, because they could suffer serious injury or death. A chilling video was released by Metrolinx that shows three people nearly hit by a GO train along an overpass in Etobicoke.  The crew of the train spotted a youngster clinging to the fence on the edge of the bridge and narrowly missed him. They saw two more people up ahead running on the track with one youngster who crossed right in front of the moving train and just avoided disaster, while another ran toward the other side of the tracks. It could have turned out very differently.

This heart-stopping video shows the dangers of walking on railways. Watch as young people come within a foot of serious injury or death while trespassing on a rail bridge in Toronto.

That reminds me of the scene in the film Stand By Me where Wil Wheaton and Jerry O’Connell‘s characters just beat a train in time, but don’t forget that was make-believe and that incident wasn’t. Remember to remind your kids to stay off the tracks.
