I had the first round of golf yesterday at the beautiful Strathcona Golf course.  I was teamed up with the nicest golfers in the city, Frank and Barb.  They come out just about everyday and get some exercise and hangout with friends.  They are the sweetest pair of folks you’ll ever meet but don’t let their kind demeaner fool you… they can play.  Barb played most of the round with her 3 wood and kicked my but.  She has a full bag of clubs but Frank drives the cart and is always far away so Barb just uses what she has… I even saw her put with the 3 wood and almost got it in.  Frank at 86 is still a beast and can crush a ball like it owes him money.  He also has a lot of great stories for every shot and situation.  I played like a goofball for most of the day but meeting nice folks like Frank and Barb is worth the embarrassment!!  So get out there to the city courses, hit a little white ball around, have some sun but more importantly meet the wonderful people of Thunder Bay.
