I was shocked to see that the Ballpoint Pen was trending on Twitter / social media this morning.

Here’s what you  might no know:  t was invented on this day, in 1943.  Have you heard the story about this invention? 

It’s credited to a man named Laszlo Biro of Hungary.  During the World War 2, he was commissioned by the British Royal Air Force to develop something that could write under ‘low atmospheric pressure’ at high altitudes.  He filed a patent for it 5 years earlier, and the rest is history.
