Sound the trumpet for Trumpet! The bloodhound won “Best in show” at the 146th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, the first bloodhound to win in the event’s 145-year history. Even his handler and co-breeder said she was shocked and feels the bloodhound is, excuse the pun, a bit of an underdog.

According to the American Kennel Club, bloodhounds can be doting to their family members and even though they are affectionate, they can also be stubborn and independent. I think Harlan Pepper, played by Christopher Guest in the funny film Best in Show, would be proud.
