I reached out to Tourism Thunder Bay this morning for the remaining dates for the VIKING OCTANTIS docking. So far, it’s visited our port twice. We have 5 more visits.
July 22 / August 5 / August 19 / September 2 and the final stop on September 16.
Arrival times are usually around 6pm. If you haven’t seen it enter the harbour….you really should. It’s quite the sight to see. Obviously a great place to see it arrive is at Marina Park. Another spot is Hillcrest Park. Our city is so fortunate that the Octantis chose Thunder bay as one of its stops. It’s a great chance for the guests to share their experiences to others from across the world.
The Viking Octantis can hold close to 380 passengers. It has a staff of about 250. It’s 665 feet long. It’s dubbed an “expedition ship”, and it will head to Antarctica next year.
Watch out for it this weekend.
