Ontario Provincial Police have confirmed a suspicious death, which took place last week in Wabaseemoong, is a homicide.

A forensic post-mortem examination completed in Toronto on October 31st identified the victim as 42-year-old Raymond Land of Wabaseemoong.

Officers with the Criminal Investigation Branch have arrested and charged two youth, a 14-year-old and a 17-year-old with the following:

·        Second Degree Murder contrary to Section 235 (1)

·        Break and Enter and Commit an Indictable Offence contrary to Section 348 (1) (B)

·        Robbery contrary to Section 344 (1) (B)

Additionally the 17-year-old has also been charged with Fail to Comply with an Undertaking contrary to Section 145 (3).

A release from the OPP states both were held in custody until they appeared in court today.

The investigation remains ongoing.
