Garth Brooks was inducted at the Kennedy Center Honors, along with violinist Midori, singer/activist Joan Baez, entertainer Dick Van Dyke, and actress, dancer Debbie Allen. The ceremony was supposed to have happened in December but had to be changed to May because of the pandemic. Paying tribute to Garth were James Taylor, Jimmie Allen and Kelly Clarkson, who brought Garth to tears with her beautiful rendition of The Dance.
