Thunder Bay Police are investigating a fatal collision between a commercial vehicle and a pedestrian which occurred earlier this evening.

Police were called to the scene just after 6:30 p.m. following a 911 call reporting a collision between a commercial vehicle and a pedestrian in the Waterloo Street South and Ridgeway Street East area.

The deceased has only been identified as an adult male.

The public is being asked to avoid the area as investigation is carried out, and an area one block North and one block South of Waterloo Street at the Ridgeway Street intersection has been closed until further notice.

Police say updates will be provided to the media as they become available.
