It appears retail sales in Canada dropped in November.

According to Statistics Canada, sales in stores went down by less than one per cent to $61.8 billion in November.

47% of retail sales were down in sub sectors like building material, garden equipment and supplies…as well food and beverage stores also saw a dip in over the counter sales.

However, the federal agency says its preliminary estimate for December suggests retail sales edged back up 0.5% for that month, though it cautions the figure would be revised.
