There’s a chance fencing will not go up around the Balmoral Street police station.
During the Police Services Board meeting Tuesday morning, Mayor Bill Mauro pointed out he was not big on spending over $600,000 considering they’re aiming for a new police headquarters.
Chief Sylvie Hauth added they can look into less fencing, such as just around the parking lot.
The police board also approved having the $56-million cost of the new building in net HST rebate included in Thunder Bay’s next budget, instead of $6.1-million in land acquisition put in the budget.
