The weather couldn’t be better as St. Patrick High School graduates walked the front lawn of the school for their diplomas.
School official Rob Weatherston tells us they marched individually in front of family, friends, and lawn signs scattered around Wednesday.
“They all have the students names on them, and a slogan on the back… ‘Once a saint, always a saint’, so they look really sharp this year,” stated Weatherston.
Grad Michael Saw credits working with his classmates on-line to get through a difficult time during COVID-19: “During the Google classmates, we were put into breakout rooms, and small groups, and we just talked to each other.”
Saw is heading to Confederation College for Interactive Media Development, to study film.
Grad committee coordinator and teacher Julie Beach said their staff have pulled through, along with anyone not part of the committee.
“Even in the event of something not going the way we planned, we have contingencies in place, we have an inside plan,” added Beach.
Michael Saw noted the ceremony is surreal, and is glad school is done: “High school has been really tough for the last two years during quarantine, I feel like I’ve missed a lot of my high school career.”
