A tragic weekend in Cumberland County.

A collision just outside Amherst claimed the lives of 3 people and seriously injured 2 others.

GoFundMe pages have been set up for the families of 26-year old Travis Killen of Springhill, his 2-month old baby Ace, and 43-year old Amanda Gabriel.

Gabriel was the grandmother of baby Ace.

Municipality of Cumberland Mayor Murray Scott says the community is in shock.

“Springhill is no stranger to tragedy, in this case the community is rallying behind the families, and trying to understand what we can do to help them. It’s devastating to all of us,” said Mayor Scott.

The Mayor says there are lots of efforts in the area to support the families.

“The families need each other and the community more than ever. I’m so appreciative of the response from our citizens. It doesn’t surprise me at all. I know the families appreciate it, they’ve told me that.”
