The 31-year-old man charged with the death of a teenager near the James Street swing bridge has appeared in bail court.
Police say Dustin Denis Moffatt, of Thunder Bay, made the appearance Wednesday, charged with:
• Second-Degree Murder
• Aggravated Assault
• Probation Order: Non-Compliance
He remains in custody, and has another court date on Thursday, July 15th. The death of the 16-year old is Thunder Bay’s second murder of the year.
Police add the charges also are connected to injuries a 17-year old boy sustained, after a fight early Tuesday morning near Gore Street.
The extent of those injuries still not revealed by police.
The accused was arrested that morning on unrelated charges, but the above charges were soon added.
Police are still at the scene.
