A Halifax-area councillor took to social media to announce a health battle.
Paul Russell, who represents Lower Sackville, said in a statement he has cancer in his head and neck area, which will require almost two months of treatment.
He said over the next two to three months it will ‘significantly change’ his ability to meet work as much as he has been. He said it will be a big change and to not provide an explanation, he adds, would be irresponsible.
Russell asks for patience and understanding as he puts his health above everything else.
Public Service Announcement – I will be generally unavailable for in-person meetings, and there may also be unscheduled absences or last minute cancellations, for the next two or three months as I battle cancer. I ask for your patience and understanding at this time. pic.twitter.com/ar27VvCMdu
