You’ll soon have to slow down a bit on Highway 105.

The province has agreed to reduce the speed limit to 70 km/h just south of Baddeck by the Tim Hortons and Irving near Wagmatcook First Nation .

According to Strait of Canso News, Warden of Victoria, Bruce Morrison says after 20 years of lobbying, The Department of Public Works has agreed to lower the speed limit.

He said along with past and current councillors, Morrison noted that Wagmatcook Chief Norman Bernard also joined the effort to get the speed limit reduced.

The busy stretch of highway is currently at 80 km/h.
