It looks like lobster fishers in LFA 33 will get an early start to the season.

Port reps voted this morning to start the season on Sunday morning at 7.

Dumping Day is normally on Monday, but the reps decided to use DFO’s 2-day flexibility rule.

A follow up conference call is scheduled for tomorrow morning to make sure there are no changes to the marine forecast.

Lobster fishers in LFA 34 will have to wait at least a day longer.

Their first weather call for Monday is scheduled this morning.
