Halifax Regional Police are investigating a vehicle-pedestrian collision in Dartmouth.
At about 6:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of an injured person who had been struck by a vehicle in the area of Burnside and Highfield Park drives.
The pedestrian, a 55-year-old-man, has been taken to hospital for what are believed to be life-threatening injuries.
As of 8:30 a.m., police said investigators were expected to remain on the scene for an extended period of time.
There is no access to Highway 111 from Burnside Drive and traffic is being redirected.
Police are asking the public to take alternate routes to avoid delays.
