Amanda Moddejonge feels there’s more to the story of Green Party money for leader Annamie Paul.

Various reports indicated that a motion introduced on June 29 by the federal party council holds back $250,000 of previously earmarked money for Paul to run in the Toronto Centre riding in the next federal election.

“There’s a review of the fund,” Moddejonge explains. “She is very aware of it, she knows all the ins and outs of the Green Party as well as the finances. It’s not that it’s bad, it just needs to be cleaned up.”

Moddejonge added: “The party does have a very large sum of money that is earmarked for her, so it will be made available to her once the writ is dropped. Right now, the funds are being better managed so we can be a lot more successful in the next election.”

Moddejonge herself is in the middle of a background check but does plan to run for the Green Party in the Thunder Bay-Superior North riding.
