The province’s police watchdog is investigating a shooting involving an RCMP officer.

RCMP say it was New Year’s Eve just before 11pm in Pictou Landing First Nation.

They say a man was threatening people known to him at a home on Harbourview Rd.

An RCMP officer shot their firearm while attempting to arrest the suspect.

The suspect was injured and was taken to hospital.

There were no other injuries.
