City police are charging a 23-year-old American man with assaulting an officer after an incident behind Home Depot.

Officers were called to that area around nine o’clock Sunday night for reports of an unwanted person.

When they arrested him, police claim the man hit two officers and threatened them.

The man is also under investigation by the Canada Border Services Agency after he claimed to have walked from Minnesota into Canada. Police say an investigation by the CBSA found no record of him entering at a border crossing.
