Workers are busy on North Water Street re-installing the Marina Park Overpass.
The structure was taken down in August 2020 for repairs, and the cost rose to around $1.8-million after more damage was discovered.
The first main section of the bridge was lifted back into place around eight o’clock Tuesday morning.
Project Engineer Mike Vogrig says next, crews need to install the glass panels, lift up and attach the second main section of the bridge, and pour the concrete decks.
“That whole process should take another two weeks. Once that’s complete, then there’s a little bit of clean-up and de-mobilization and the overpass should be back open again,” he says.
Vogrig says the road will still be closed off during that work and for a short while after.
