The information session will be at the Kinsmen Community Centre at 7 p.m., Thursday at 71 First Lake Drive.
The pallets are set to go in the parking lot at the Beacon House over the next couple of weeks.
However, a petition against the expansion is circulating online and so far, has over 1,000 signatures.
Community members say the pallets are a risk to the public, being close to a local high school and across from a skate park.
The petition also claims that the development is in ”direct violation of long-standing HRM by-laws and zoning statutes.”
It says if their requests are ignored, they are willing to take their request to the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia.
The HRM has ordered evictions from five ten encampments by February 26th, including the ballfield on Cobequid Rd.
Staff from Beacon House, representatives from the Department of Community Service and the RCMP will be on hand tonight, to provide information and answer questions.
