Classes are on hold at St. Patrick High School after a threat was made against the school, which has prompted an evacuation.

Buses are being rallied to transport students home, while parents and other caregivers who wish to pick up students directly may do so at the school.

Officials with the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board say St. Patrick will remain closed until further notice, resulting in the cancellation of all after-school and community events scheduled for today.

“We understand the concerns and anxieties such incidents may cause and want to assure you that we are working closely with law enforcement to manage the situation and ensure the ongoing safety of our community.”

The Board adds it will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available and that it appreciates the cooperation and understanding of the community at this time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact city police or Crime Stoppers.
