A Halifax MP has a bold move to help fix the city’s housing crisis and is looking for your input.
Following his announcement that he is seriously considering running for mayor, Andy Fillmore posted a video on his social media, suggesting relocating the ‘massive’ Canada Post building on Almon Street outside the city.
→ It’s time for Canada Post on Almon St. to relocate & open up this federal land for housing.
This is an idea I’ve been working on lately, one that could free up public land for thousands of new homes in HRM. It’s time to get moving.

The location is close to restaurants, shops, schools, services and is hooked up to sewer and water.
Fillmore says we can’t keep playing catch up and need to take advantage of opportunities.
