Route 7 in Grand Bay-Westfield could be closed until mid-afternoon Thursday following a crash earlier in the day.

Emergency crews were called to the scene near kilometre marker 75 shortly after 6 a.m. Thursday.

Fire Chief Troy Gautreau said it was a head-on collision involving a car and a transport truck.

Gautreau said everyone walked away from the crash without any injuries.

“However the truck ended up down a pretty steep embankment, so the recovery of that truck is what’s really taking the time,” Gautreau said in an interview.

Traffic is currently being detoured at Exit 71 (Route 177 – Grand Bay-Westfield) and Exit 80 (Route 102 to Route 177 – Grand Bay-Westfield, Arcadia).
