Never mind the rubber boots, you might need a pair of hip waders over the next couple of days in parts of New Brunswick.

Special weather statements have been issued by Environment Canada calling for lots of rain to begin Wednesday morning and continue until midday Thursday.

Central and eastern New Brunswick could see between 30 and 60 millimetres.

Southern New Brunswick could wee between 70 and 100 millimetres and even high amounts along the Fundy coast.

Get ready to hold onto your hats.  This system will also come with high wind gusts, between 70 and 90 kilometres an hour, and even higher along the Fundy coast.

The temperatures are then expected to plunge below the freezing mark on Thursday.
