Two years after a structural collapse at its Sioux Lookout store, officials with Red Apple say it will be reopening its doors next month.

The collapse occurred an hour before the store was set to close for the night on March 3rd, 2022, and even with several staff members and customers still inside, nobody was injured.

In a statement Vice President of Operations Dave Johnson says the restoration of the Front Street location took some time due to various insurance processes, but is thrilled the store will be reopening.

“We will announce our grand opening date soon and intend to open before Easter. Red Apple will reopen to serve the residents of Sioux Lookout in a completely refreshed store featuring our most up-to-date layout.”

That layout he says includes a Candyworks candy shop, a wide selection of food, as well as fashion, home products and other items.
