The Muskeg Express is up and running at Centennial Park.
The city’s Supervisor of Parks and Open Space Planning, Werner Schwar, says it’s exciting to have the attraction open again.
“I think people have been waiting a long time for this to happen, especially kids and families,” says Schraw. “It is a tradition of summer to take a ride on the Muskeg Express, and I think to be able to do that again is exciting for families.”
The train has been closed down because of repairs. Schaw explains this in greater detail.
“It was a few different things, not just one,” says Schwar. “Some of the biggest things were improving the hitch from the engine to the passenger car, that had to be improved, and changes to the tracks themselves in terms of alignment.”
It will run Wednesday through Sunday from 11 AM to 4 PM, weather permitting, until September 5th.
