Ontario Provincial Police have arrested a dozen people wanted on outstanding warrants in the Fort Frances area.

Two of the individuals remain in custody pending a bail hearing.

Their arrests this week were conducted as part of the Offender Management and Apprehension Program, a crime suppression program designed to deter the criminal activities of repeat offenders.

It focuses police attention on offenders considered to be high-risk and often involved in repeat criminal behaviour.

Police say the local initiative focused on individuals with arrest warrants related to outstanding charges ranging from violent offences to drug, property and bail violations.

OPP involved their Community Street Crime Unit and Emergency Response Team in making the arrests.
