City staff are on site at the Victoria Park tent site Monday, communicating with those still there, that they need to leave.

The HRM says as of Friday, there were still six people left.

It was one of five de-designated encampments ordered to leave by the end of February, as the city says better indoor options now exist.

The city says health and safety conditions in Victoria Park are steadily decreased over the past few months, creating a risky situation.

Staff say they have been in contact with every person still at the de-designated encampments, offering them “resources and supports, including transportation of people and belongings.”

Personal belongings can be stored for up to 30 days by the municipality.

The city provided a notice February 7th, for five encampments to vacate by February 26th.

Power was cut Friday morning to Grand Parade and the Correctional Centre in Lower Sackville.
