Some much needed relief for Red Lake area residents on the forest fire situation.
The Municipality of Red Lake says while Red Lake Fires 77 and 16 and Kenora 51 remain active, they don’t pose a threat to area communities.
Because of the recent weather, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says fire crews continue to make progress in the Red Lake District.
The major fires have shown little to no growth.
In their update Friday afternoon, municipal officials say they are stopping social media alerts but will continue to meet with the MNRF and community partners to stay informed.
