There was a water shutdown at the QEII’s Halifax Infirmary site.
It happened on the weekend following two earlier water main breaks in April that left the site without running water and heat for a couple of days.
In an email to our newsroom, Nova Scotia Health says it was “for approximately two hours to repair a small crack in a new coupling from the initial repair.”
“Water was restored and cleared for drinking following the work.”
The health authority says, “Defects in this type of new pipe are very rare – it is unlikely to happen again.”
