Police are asking those staying at the Halifax Tower Hotel to shelter in place until further notice.

Halifax Regional Police say they are on scene at the Lakelands Boulevard hotel for a “weapons-related incident.”

“There is no threats to the public, please avoid the area for the time being. Hotel clients are advised to shelter in place until further notice,” police said in a social media post shortly after 10:10 a.m. Sunday.

Police said they will provide an update once the incident is concluded.
