Police are investigating a side-by-side collision that killed an infant in Lunenburg County.
Dispatchers first received calls about the crash on May 27, at approximately 7:10 p.m., reporting a side-by-side crash on Forties Road near New Ross.
When first responders arrived they learned that a Polaris Rzr was travelling on the narrow gravel roadway when it rolled coming to rest on its roof.
One of four occupants, an infant from Forties, suffered life-threatening injuries.
She was airlifted to hospital by EHS where she was later declared dead.
A 27-year-old woman from Forties was driving side-by-side with a 52-year-old male passenger from New Ross who also required hospital treatment after sustaining serious injuries.
The fourth person on board was identified as a child from the Forties, who also required medical attention for minor injuries.
Forties Road was closed for several hours for the investigation, but reopened by Sunday morning.
The RCMP investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
