Andy Fillmore, a Halifax MP, has announced he’s running for mayor.

Fillmore announced his campaign in Dartmouth Wednesday morning.

He recently said he would step down from his position as MP amid rumours he would run for mayor.

Fillmore has been a member of parliament since 2015 and worked for the city before he was elected.

Councillors Pam Lovelace and Waye Mason have announced their plans to run, along with five newcomers.
