If you’re going on a day trip or a getaway for the Natal Day long-weekend, parts of the province are in for a stretch of very hot and sticky weather

Heat warnings are in effect for northern Nova Scotia and the Annapolis Valley today through Monday.

Annapolis, Antigonish, Colchester, Cumberland, Hants, Kings and Pictou counties will experience high temperatures and humidity.

Expect daytime highs near 30, but it will be very humid, so will feel like nearly 40. You’ll find a bit of relief along parts of the coast where it will be cooler.

Overnight lows will be around 20.

New Brunswick, except the Fundy Coast, and PEI are also under heat warnings.

Environment Canada advises that extreme heat can affect everyone’s health.

Never leave people, particularly children, or pets inside a parked vehicle.
