Saint John police are searching the area of Rockwood Park for a man considered armed and dangerous.

The man is described as being in his 30s and wearing a blue shirt, blue pants and a green backpack.

He was last seen around the Lily Lake Pavillion, police said in a social media post just before 10 a.m.

“Anyone nearby is asked to shelter in place and call police if you observe anyone suspicious or anyone matching [the description],” said the post.

People are asked to avoid the area and not approach the suspect.
